Directing Change

Reaching Out

Tags: Monthly Prompt
Film Description:

As someone who has struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts myself, I can say with full confidence that reaching out can save a life. After all, it saved mine. I was drowning in a sea of my own thoughts, and I couldn’t pull myself out of the dark. I was sinking fast. It felt like life kept throwing every obstacle possible at me, and I didn’t know how to handle it. I was ready to give up. But instead, I made the decision to tell someone about my struggles and to try and seek help. To my surprise, the person I told reached back, and they grabbed hold of me and became my light throughout all the darkness. They pulled me out of my depression, and I believe that reaching out saved my life.
